The importance of SYKES Cares.

Business Process Outsourcing company SYKES Asia, Incorporated has a sustainable development model dubbed SYKES Cares or SYKES Sustainability. This model is a vision and desired state where business prosperity and economic growth are enablers of environmental protection and social well-being, resulting in social mobility that contributes to the reduction of poverty and inequality.
SYKES Cares has three key focuses. The Social aspect means SYKES is involved in the personal and professional growth of its people and their families. As Environmental champions, SYKES is committed to operating in a responsible way to protect the environment, its clients’ business, and the value chain of the operation. The Economic focus means SYKES is committed to building and helping improve the competencies and skills of the communities in which it does business, in order to foster social mobility and provide support in various outreach programs dedicated to rebuilding communities.
To this end the company will soon launch a CSR Council comprising of dedicated employees – hand-picked by the management from different departments – who will champion and drive advocacy by increasing employee motivation, strengthening client relationships, and enriching employee experience through sustainability programs. SYKES’ new CSR ambassadors will focus on prioritizing and mobilizing CSR activities through the entire workforce.
SYKES conducts year-round employee engagement programs to ensure that everyone in the organization grows as employees and as individuals. Every year, employees look forward to annual activities such as the Year End Celebration and Customer Service Week, which is an internationally recognized celebration observed every first week of October where the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis (15,000 employees in the Philippines, alone!) are valued and commended.

SYKES provides equal opportunities for growth and leadership, which is why it takes pride in having tenured employees instead of contract staff. The majority of its current leaders were promoted from within through succession planning programs which give everyone equal opportunity for career growth. To retain talents, the company has put into place a six-faceted Talent Retention Strategy which promotes work-life balance. It also offers study assistance programs for employees wishing to pursue further studies, SPARK and ALPHA (Accelerated Leadership Program for High Achievers) which are succession management programs designed to ensure the readiness of future leaders, and to uphold the company’s culture of promoting from within. There are also mentoring programs, a global satisfaction survey, town hall meetings, digital feedback platform for recognition, issues, and inquiries. The recent launch of the SYKES PH Mobile App enables employees to stay connected, informed and updated anytime, anywhere through their smartphones. Service awards, account incentives and bonuses, SYKES dependents scholarships (SYKES EDGE), lucrative compensation and incentives round out employee benefits.
The 1998-established company also ensures proper Standards of Conduct (SOC) to provide consistent and clear communications on acceptable business principles. The four pillars of the SYKES Standards of Conduct are Respect, Security, Safety, and Ethics, with the organization emphasizing caring interactions, and the creation of a spirit of trust SYKES’ Human Resources Department is composed of different teams to ensure that every employee receives the best overall employee experience. HR Infrastructure ensures that all HR tools and systems for employees run smoothly, while Central Benefits manage government-mandated benefits. Site HR teams focus on employee relations, while Compliance assists employees in completing their government requirements. The Branding and Communications team spearheads employee engagement activities, events, and internal and external communications.
