about Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc.

“Refreshing the Philippines”

Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. makes a difference for the people and planet.

Since starting out as Coca-Cola Company’s first bottling plant in Asia in 1912, Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. has grown from strength to strength with over 50 sales offices and distribution centers in the country today. This has created more than 10,000 direct jobs and 6,000 indirect jobs for Filipinos.

CCBPI’s current product portfolio comprises 17 well-loved brands, such as Coke, Royal, Sprite, Wilkins, Schweppes, Viva, and Minute Maid. Thanks to its expansive market reach, one of every two bottles of beverages Filipinos buy today is a Coca-Cola product. As the number one consumer choice in the market categories where it competes, CCBPI strives to leave a lasting positive impact in the communities where it is present.

To accomplish its vision to ‘Refresh the Philippines and Make a Difference’, CCBPI has taken various initiatives to empower its employees through the Filipino value of ‘malasakit’; in addition to implementing environmentally- and socially-conscious policies as well as strengthening partnerships with its stakeholders.

Driving this vision forward is a comprehensive sustainability framework, led by its exemplary CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). It spans water leadership, packaging circularity, climate action, sustainable agriculture, and people. CCBPI also releases annual sustainability reports for local and global monitoring on its progress, financials, business performance, and operations.

In terms of water leadership, CCBPI adopts a Reduce, Reuse and Replenish strategy. All of its manufacturing sites are equipped with state-of-the art wastewater treatment facilities, which has returned close to 28.8 billion liters of treated water from January 2014 to December 2021. Through its AGOS Project, the company has also made safe water accessible to water-poor communities, particularly in upland and rural areas, by way of technologies such as rainwater harvesting, gravity-fed water systems, and hydraulic ram pumps.

Further, CCBPI continues to make progress on its World Without Waste commitment to make 100% of its packaging recyclable globally by 2025. Some of its successful initiatives so far include developing the country’s first-of-its-kind recycling facility for PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) plastic packaging, PETValue Philippines; transitioning from plastic straws to paper straws for its juice and dairy products, Minute Maid and Nutriboost, in 2021; and transitioning select Coca-Cola Original Taste and Wilkins Pure packaging to 100% recycled PET plastic (rPET).

When it comes to climate action, CCBPI has taken steps to ensure that close to 70% of its total power requirement is now sourced from clean and renewable energy. In 2020, 14,000 solar panels were installed across its plants in order to use energy efficiently even as the company continues to expand. This ensures that CCBPI is on track to meet its goal where 85% of its total energy requirement comes from clean and renewable energy by 2025, namely, solar and geothermal energy sources.

With people at the heart of everything it does, CCBPI strives to ensure that each individual in the company is able to reach their full potential. To do so, it provides leadership development and team empowerment programmes that foster the ‘malasakit’ culture of compassion, generosity, and community spirit. For instance, the Ready in 180 program is designed to help fast track the New Hire and Internal Hire acclimatization process. Meanwhile, the Coca-Cola Beverages University empowers, trains, and develops talents through various programs such as the Frontline Leadership Program for emerging leaders; and the SMART Manufacturing program to upskill employees.

In addition, diversity, equality and inclusiveness (DE&I) have always been imperative for the company’s growth. To this end, CCBPI has actively promoted equal opportunity and human rights in all its work centers by opening its doors to people of all genders, sexual orientations, religions, and backgrounds.
