More about

Sze Keed

Wong Sze Keed, an industry veteran with nearly 30 years of experience, leads AIA Singapore as its Chief Executive Officer. Established in 1931, AIA Singapore is a leading life insurance company with one of the largest agency forces in the country.

Strengthening Tied Distribution and Financial Advisory

Sze Keed joined AIA Singapore in March 2013 as Chief Partnership Distribution Officer before taking on the role of Chief Distribution Officer in December 2014. She played a pivotal role in strengthening the tied distribution channel, enhancing the quality, expertise, and productivity of AIA insurance representatives to better serve families in Singapore with protection, savings, and investment solutions.

Under her leadership, AIA Singapore’s tied distribution business has achieved remarkable success, securing the title of Number One Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) company in Singapore for eight consecutive years. In 2022, AIA Singapore also achieved the highest retention rate of MDRT members worldwide.

She was instrumental in establishing AIA Financial Advisers (FA) in 2017, which has since become one of Singapore’s leading financial advisory firms.

Driving Growth Through Digital Transformation

Despite a challenging business environment, AIA Singapore delivered a strong performance in 2021, supported by its digital-first ecosystem. The company reported a 13% increase in IFRS Operating Profit After Tax (OPAT), driven by growth in its in-force portfolio and higher investment returns. Total Weighted Premium Income (TWPI) saw an 8.4% increase, fueled by new business recovery and steady growth in renewal premiums.

AIA Singapore’s Corporate Solutions division also delivered double-digit growth in Value of New Business (VONB) in 2021, reinforcing its position as the Number One Employee Benefits Insurer in Singapore.

Leading Through Crisis With a People-First Approach

Taking on the role of CEO during one of Singapore’s most challenging health crises, Sze Keed prioritized the well-being of her people across financial, mental, and physical aspects. Her leadership during this period led to the introduction of a people-first mandate to support Singaporeans through difficult times.

In 2021, as AIA celebrated its 90th anniversary in Singapore, Sze Keed championed the company’s mission of enabling Singaporeans to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives (HLBL), with a strong emphasis on mental health awareness.

She remains committed to leading AIA Singapore towards a more sustainable future, integrating a people-first approach into digital transformation by balancing high-tech solutions with high-touch and high-trust relationships.

Inspired by Resilience and Mentorship

A graduate of the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics, Sze Keed attributes her success to resilience and passion.

Her mother, whom she regards as her role model, instilled in her the values of discipline and excellence, encouraging her to step beyond her comfort zone and strive for financial independence. These lessons empowered her to break barriers in the male-dominated insurance industry.

Today, Sze Keed continues to uphold these values, sharing them with her employees and emphasizing that hard work, talent, and determination are the keys to success, regardless of gender or background.

A Servant-Leader at Heart

Sze Keed is best described as a servant-leader—one who uplifts, supports, and empowers her employees from the ground up. Her people-first approach and approachable leadership style have earned her the respect and admiration of her workforce.

Winning the ACES Awards is a recognition of her unwavering commitment to championing healthier, longer, and better lives, while steering AIA Singapore to be a lifelong partner for all Singaporeans.
