Vertiv also commands a formidable workforce of over 21,000 employees, over 300 service centers, 19 manufacturing centers, and 15 customer experience centers worldwide.
With the current pandemic causing shifts in operational strategies and direction, there has been a greater overall demand placed on IT-related services and Vertiv undoubtedly plays a defining role in mobilising a post-pandemic workplace. Across Asia, this overarching responsibility lies with none other than, Anand Sanghi, President of Asia Market, who is in charge of the Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, India, and Japan and South Korea markets.
Commanding over 27 years of experience in the technology and engineering space, Sanghi has been a crucial dignitary of the Vertiv family even prior to its rebranding from Emerson Network Power, where he served as the Director of Planning from 2001 and attained multiple roles of growing prominence before being appointed as President of Vertiv Asia-Pacific in 2017.
Through his fervent leadership, Sanghi primarily focuses on developing and growing Vertiv’s capabilities across the Asia region while leveraging on the company’s global capabilities. He has also seen the company through many of its notable wins, including Vertiv’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in February 2020, as well as its past trials and tribulations such as SARS outbreak and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are many enviable attributes and qualities that make Sanghi the influential leader he is today. For one, he challenges himself in embracing adaptability in order to better address the needs of customers. Additionally, his team-first mindset further challenges his humility, integrity and self-awareness, ensuring that he takes full responsibility for his actions and gives credit where it is due.
Armed with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Sanghi considers himself an inclusive leader who very much relies on and has the back of his workforce of 3,000. Aside from consistent engagements for the betterment of Vertiv as a workplace and extensive learning and development programs offered, Sanghi also champions the One Vertiv culture, which instills the importance of collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams to drive the success of the company, while he continues to meet their changing needs.
Citing his parents and mentors as his role models, Sanghi aspires to build a powerful legacy by making a difference in the lives of those he crosses paths with. What also sets him apart as a force to be reckoned with is his passion for personal development which gets reflected in the manner in which he inspires others, and his focus on creating long-term impact. Sanghi trusts that to become a good leader, one must first be an excellent enabler, and that is exactly how he has kept his entire team across all levels united in being aligned with Vertiv’s vision and goals.
“ A true sign of greatness is when a leader is willing to set aside all ambition for the sake of the team, and as the Asia Market President of Vertiv, Anand Sanghi has shown great strides in holistically paving the way for others to succeed while keeping a tight rein on his own humility, integrity and self-awareness.”
