TCS’s Asia Pacific Head of Business Sustainability and Sustainability CTOHead of Business Sustainability – Asia Pacific, Michele Lemmens, is passionate about both the need and the opportunity for businesses to embrace sustainability in the way they operate, along with harnessing the power of innovation and digital to champion sustainable change for a better triple bottom line.and lead change. She has deep experience in enterprise business model transformations, and is often driven by strategies involving new market entry, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, start-ups, and strategic alliances. This experience along with business development, P&L and stakeholder management spans multiple business functions and industries reachinges across Asia Pacific, Middle East and United Kingdom geographies. One of her most interesting and inspiring roles during recent years was a move to Saudi Arabia to establish, manage and grow the TCS Women’s-only business process outsourcing (BPO) center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which reached 500 strong in 18 months.
Lemmens is currently responsible for championing sustainability initiatives with stakeholders to bring the depth and breadth of TCS, Research & Innovation and COIN to drive sustainable developments. She is also the Head of the ASEAN Regional Hub for Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI).She is currently seconded to Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) as the Head of ASEAN Regional Hub. Her focus is working across diverse multi-stakeholder networks advocating change and enabling businesses, governments, regulators, stock exchanges, investors and, academia and media constituencies of the ASEAN region to engage in dialogue, embrace innovative sustainability practices and make better decisions based on information that matters.
The dedicated career woman sees herself as a high energy, driven, optimistic, outcome-focused, and committed leader. She leads by example with a high say-do ratio. She likes to paint the big picture and share context, but also be able to help on with the details when they are needed to ensure success. The tireless leader actively seeks out change, and tackles different problemsoften taking the path less trodden. She believes that her success has been a combination of factors: being able to draw a holistic picture around the strategy and the program to deliver, her ability to ignite aspiration in others, her vast and diverse work experience, her pursuit forof new models, her resilience and mindset along with an ability to relate to business executives and how to translateon challenges to be resolvedsuccess.
