Jebsen & Jessen Group operates across five autonomous business units—Cable Technology, Ingredients, Life Sciences, Packaging, and Technology. With a strong presence in Southeast Asia and China, the group is actively engaged in manufacturing, engineering, and distribution.
Proud of its 125-year heritage, Jebsen & Jessen thrives on a balance of local presence, regional networks, industry expertise, and global solutions, allowing it to create meaningful value for customers.
Leadership with a Vision
At the helm of this dynamic enterprise is Per Magnusson, the Group Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Executive Board. A Swedish national with Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration, Magnusson’s leadership has brought a strong focus on competence development within the organization, particularly through Jebsen & Jessen’s in-house Management Development Program.
His early experiences as a young engineer in Sweden shaped his understanding of leadership and the importance of structured development for first-line managers. As a result, he has championed robust management programs to ensure every leader in the company is equipped to build and lead strong teams. Given Jebsen & Jessen’s expansive reach across more than 30 subsidiaries and associate companies in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, these initiatives are critical to maintaining operational excellence.
A Culture of Responsibility and Growth
Serving over 20,000 customers—including global multinationals and thriving SMEs—Jebsen & Jessen continues to expand its business platform while staying committed to sustainability. The group made history in 2011 as the first industrial company to achieve carbon neutrality and remains dedicated to evaluating and improving its business practices to minimize environmental impact.
Magnusson firmly believes that humility is the cornerstone of great leadership. According to him, humility fosters self-improvement and encourages leaders to recognize and develop the untapped potential within their teams. His extensive international experience, spanning three continents and five countries, has shaped his intercultural perspective—an invaluable asset in leading a multinational corporation.
Advancing into the Future
In 2021, Jebsen & Jessen launched a group-wide strategy under the banner of “Advance and Build,” signaling a strong post-pandemic recovery with a focus on growth, capability-building, and business expansion. Magnusson views this initiative as a testament to the group’s resilience and an optimistic roadmap for the future.
“Winning at the ACES Awards would mean recognition for our corporate culture at J&J, as well as for everyone in the group who works tirelessly to achieve a vital goal that has an ever-moving goal post.” – Per Magnusson
Recognized Leadership
Per Magnusson’s ability to unite diverse cultures, processes, and mindsets has set him apart as an exceptional leader.
“Being at the helm of a group with such a diversified portfolio of services, across so many countries and thousands of associates, Per has distinguished himself by bridging cultures, mindsets, and processes to steer J&J to the heights it has achieved.” – Shanggari Balakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer, MORS Group
“Per personifies some of the best traits of the Swedish: a clear-eyed ability to see a need and address it, as well as the ability to distill the needs of the Group’s customers and employees, forging paths to make the two run parallel and ultimately meet in a happy confluence.” – Dr. Jayanthi Desan, Lead Jury, ACES Awards
With a legacy of innovation, people development, and a steadfast commitment to sustainability, Magnusson and Jebsen & Jessen continue to shape the future of business leadership in the region.
