LBS Bina Group Berhad, a prominent property development company, was incorporated on 29 June 2000 and listed on Bursa Malaysia on 30 January 2002. By 2017, the company proudly celebrated 15 years as a listed entity, solidifying its position as a key player in Malaysia’s real estate industry.

Dedicated to increasing homeownership in Malaysia, LBS Bina Group focuses on developing affordable homes and townships tailored for first-time buyers, young families, and the middle-income segment. The company emphasizes practical home designs and value-added facilities, ensuring a comfortable living experience for homeowners.

Pioneering Township Developments

LBS Bina Group launched its first major township, Bandar Saujana Putra (BSP), in 2003, transforming 850 acres of land into a thriving, self-sustaining community. This success paved the way for the company’s latest signature project, BSP21, further enhancing the township’s appeal.

Building on its confidence and expertise, LBS ventured into luxury developments with the launch of D’ Island Residence in 2011, offering an exclusive island resort-style living experience. By 2015, the company achieved a significant milestone, surpassing RM1 billion in total sales.

International Expansion and Strategic Resilience

LBS Bina Group’s ambition extended beyond Malaysia when it launched the Melaka Cultural and Trade Center in Zhuhai, China, in March 2016. This initiative, held in conjunction with the Melaka Cultural Festival and Pan Delta Super Racing Festival, strengthened ties between Melaka and Guangdong, further expanding LBS’s global footprint.

Reflecting on challenges faced by the company, Group Managing Director Tan Sri Lim Hock San recalls the 1997 financial crisis as a defining moment. LBS made a strategic shift towards developing medium-low-cost homes, a decision that helped the company weather the economic downturn and emerge stronger.

Leadership and Employee Empowerment

The continuous growth and resilience of LBS Bina Group are attributed to its strategic leadership and the confidence instilled in its employees. Tan Sri Lim believes that strong leadership stems from experience and the ability to embrace new ideas. He encourages open discussions at the management level, ensuring that innovative concepts are properly evaluated and supported throughout the implementation process.

Recognizing the vital role of human resources in the company’s success, Tan Sri Lim emphasizes the importance of good leadership in shaping HR practices. A positive and fulfilling work environment, along with a structured approach to talent development, ensures that employees are motivated and able to reach their full potential.

As a goal-oriented leader, Tan Sri Lim works closely with his management team, fostering a results-driven and open-minded corporate culture.
