Established in 1972, Traphaco Joint Stock Company (TJSC) has become a key player in Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry. The company is involved in the manufacturing and trading of pharmaceutical products, chemicals, functional food, cosmetics, and medical equipment. Beyond production, Traphaco is engaged in the cultivation and processing of medicinal ingredients, medical technology transfer, and consulting services within the pharmaceutical sector.
With nearly five decades of experience, Traphaco operates four GMP-WHO-certified pharmaceutical factories, distributing more than 130 products nationwide through its network of 28 branches. The company serves over 28,000 pharmacy customers across Vietnam. In addition to its domestic operations, Traphaco distributes imported products and facilitates technology transfers with Daewoong Group, Korea’s third-largest pharmaceutical corporation.

A Commitment to Green and Sustainable Development
Traphaco envisions becoming the number one pharmaceutical company in Vietnam in both revenue and profit while pioneering the production of green healthcare products. The company’s approach to sustainability is rooted in its Green Value Chain, which focuses on three core principles: economic efficiency, social responsibility, and environmental protection.
This commitment has earned Traphaco recognition as a leader in sustainable business practices. It remains the only pharmaceutical company in Vietnam’s Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises, holding the title for three consecutive years from 2016 to 2018, and again in 2021. Additionally, Traphaco’s Sustainability Report was the first in Vietnam’s pharmaceutical sector to be recognized as the industry benchmark under the Global Reporting Initiative Standard in 2019.
Aligning with Global Sustainability Goals
Traphaco has adopted six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as part of its long-term strategy, aiming to achieve them by 2025. Key initiatives include efforts aligned with Goal 1, No Poverty, and Goal 3, Good Health and Well-being.
One of its flagship programs, the Greenplan Project, strengthens the company’s sustainable supply chain by partnering with over 675 households to cultivate and harvest medicinal herbs. These practices adhere to the World Health Organization’s Good Agricultural and Collection Practices, ensuring high-quality raw materials while providing a stable income and sustainable jobs for local farmers.
Making a Lasting Impact on Public Health
Traphaco has played an active role in public health education for over two decades, organizing an average of 500 health consultation conferences annually. These initiatives include free healthcare consultations, medicine distribution, and the publication of the Healthy Living magazine, benefiting millions of members from various organizations, including the Elderly Association, Women’s Association, Red Cross, and Veteran’s Association.
Focusing on underserved areas, Traphaco prioritizes healthcare access for rural and remote communities in Vietnam, ensuring that essential medical services reach those who need them most.
A Reliable Partner in Crisis Response
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Traphaco demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by sponsoring Covid-19 vaccines and launching the Safe Medicine Bag Program in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health. The company also designed and deployed Covid-19 mobile testing chambers to high-risk areas, helping frontline healthcare workers manage the crisis more effectively.
Driving Sustainable Growth for Vietnam
Shanggari Balakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer of MORS Group, highlights Traphaco’s impactful sustainability efforts.
“Traphaco has considered every aspect of its business model in relation to both sustainability and national prosperity. Its Greenplan Project allows ordinary Vietnamese households to become growers and collectors of medicinal herbs, ensuring a constant supply chain of good-quality raw materials while providing livelihoods for partnering households.”
Through innovation, sustainability, and a strong commitment to social impact, Traphaco continues to set new standards for the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam. With its long-term vision and dedication to green healthcare solutions, the company is well-positioned to drive both business growth and positive change for communities across the nation.
