Financial Achievements
In 2013, Serba achieved significant revenue growth of 20 percent, reaching RM535 million in group revenue. Nett profit improved to approximately RM53 million as per the audited accounts for the year ending 31 December 2013.
Technical Achievements
Serba has placed strong emphasis on research and development (R&D), particularly focusing on green technology. The company produced two prototype machines that use hydrogen as a source to produce electricity, which were submitted for trademark registration with the Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO). Additionally, Serba’s IT team developed a tailor-made software combined with RFID technology to manage critical database information, helping clients track the location and availability of items, analyze stock status, and streamline operations. This was the first such system implemented in Malaysia for an international oil company, and the company also upgraded other engineering software, such as AlignSoft™ and myPlant™, to become web-based.
