Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd. (KOSSAN) has been a leader in the rubber industry since its establishment in 1979 in Malaysia. As a world-class manufacturer of latex disposable gloves and high-tech engineered rubber products, KOSSAN is committed to delivering innovative and reliable solutions for diverse market needs. With advanced manufacturing capabilities and cutting-edge technology, the company continuously raises quality standards in purposeful rubber products.

Commitment to Sustainability
KOSSAN’s sustainability efforts are guided by its Sustainability Policy and Twelve Sustainability Principles, designed to create shared value through a sustainable ecosystem. These principles are embedded in daily operations, ensuring environmental stewardship, meaningful social engagement, and adherence to the highest governance standards.
The company also upholds an Environmental Policy as part of its Environmental Management System (EMS) Framework, aligned with the ISO 14001 standard. This framework includes six key components that help KOSSAN manage its environmental impact effectively. The policy is communicated to employees, vendors, and stakeholders, setting best practices in environmental responsibility. At every plant, dedicated personnel ensure compliance with local environmental laws and oversee the management of industrial effluents and hazardous waste.
Environmental Responsibility and Continuous Improvement
KOSSAN conducts regular environmental assessments and audits to identify non-compliance areas and develop strategies for improvement. Environmental Aspect and Significant Impact (EASI) assessments help set specific environmental targets, with progress monitored by plant-level environment departments and reported to top management. Employees are actively involved in implementing mitigation measures, reinforcing a company-wide commitment to sustainability.
Stakeholder Engagement and Materiality Assessment
KOSSAN places high importance on identifying and engaging with key stakeholders through meaningful interactions. This proactive approach allows the company to gain valuable insights into material sustainability issues, ensuring its efforts align with stakeholder expectations and drive continuous value creation.
Greening the Value Chain
In March 2023, KOSSAN successfully launched its participation in the Greening Value Chain (GVC) Programme initiated by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). The GVC empowers small and medium enterprise (SME) supply chain partners to reduce emissions through a carbon accounting solution. This initiative enables suppliers to measure their carbon footprint and qualify for BNM’s Low Carbon Transition Facility (LCTF), providing financing for sustainable capital investments. By supporting its supply chain in transitioning to low-carbon operations, KOSSAN reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability across its entire value chain.
