Founded in 1991 as the Agricultural Cooperative Bank, Khan Bank LLC has grown into the largest commercial bank in Mongolia. With over 545 branches nationwide, it serves approximately 2.8 million customers, covering an impressive 82% of all Mongolian households.

Top Contributor to Mongolia’s Economy

For the past 10 years, Khan Bank has consistently ranked among Mongolia’s “Top 10 taxpayer entities,” highlighting its significant contribution to the national treasury. In 2021, the bank paid MNT 227.8 billion in taxes, a substantial increase from MNT 120.5 billion in 2020 and MNT 131.7 billion in 2019.

As a systemically important bank, Khan Bank employs 6,470 people, playing a crucial role in Mongolia’s employment sector. Its stable workforce helps alleviate unemployment and supports financial stability and livelihoods across the country.

Commitment to Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Since 2007, the Khan Bank Foundation has led the bank’s social impact efforts, focusing on seven priority areas. The foundation has initiated over 500 projects and programs, with MNT 9.4 billion allocated for funding. These initiatives aim to create tangible, positive changes in communities across Mongolia.

Supporting Education and Empowering Youth

Through its Khan Bank Scholarship Program, the bank has invested over MNT 2 billion in scholarships, supporting 2,000 students from rural areas over the past 16 years. This initiative reinforces Khan Bank’s dedication to fostering educational opportunities and empowering the next generation.

Advancing Healthcare Initiatives

Khan Bank has implemented nationwide healthcare programs to improve access to medical services. The “Campaign Against Hypertension” provided free medical exams to over 24,000 people and trained more than 1,500 doctors. The “National Campaign Against Cancer” conducted 513 emergency surgeries, detected 610 cancer cases, and trained 10,238 medical professionals, significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility.

Leading in Environmental Sustainability

The Khan Bank Forest Program has planted over 29,000 trees on a 14-hectare land, with a target of 108,000 more trees to be planted. In partnership with the International Finance Corporation, Khan Bank issued Mongolia’s first green bond to fund renewable energy, green buildings, and other sustainable projects, demonstrating its commitment to environmental responsibility.

Creating a Positive Workplace Culture

Khan Bank prioritizes employee well-being through progressive policies, including the Human Resources Policy, Talent Management Policy, Occupational Safety and Health Policy, and Employment Equality Policy. Employee satisfaction has increased from 79.9% in 2020 to 81.6% in 2022. The introduction of a shared office concept with flexible work hours from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. promotes work-life balance and fosters a productive workplace environment.
