More about

Experian Asia Pacific

Experian, the world’s leading global information services company, has been empowering individuals and businesses for over 125 years. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, the company helps people take financial control of their lives, supports businesses in making informed decisions, guides lenders in responsible lending, and assists organizations in preventing identity fraud and crime.

With approximately 1.7 billion adults worldwide lacking access to financial services—many of them in the Asia Pacific region—financial inclusion remains a critical challenge. In Southeast Asia alone, where the population exceeds 600 million, less than half have a bank account, limiting their ability to save, borrow, or invest in business opportunities. Recognizing this, Experian Asia Pacific has made financial inclusion a priority, ensuring equitable access to essential financial services for underserved communities.

Purpose-Driven CSR and Sustainable Impact

Corporate Social Responsibility is deeply embedded in Experian Asia Pacific’s company culture. The company has established a network of Impact Officers, described as super purpose-driven leaders from all backgrounds, who collaborate with employees, local communities, and non-profit organizations to implement long-term, sustainable programs.

Experian Asia Pacific has also leveraged its data and analytics expertise to support communities most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Across Australia, Greater China, Japan, Korea, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, the company has worked closely with local partners to develop meaningful initiatives that deliver lasting impact.

During the pandemic, Experian’s Asia Pacific team mobilized several key initiatives, including a global employee fundraising drive to support communities most impacted by COVID-19 in India. The company also donated repurposed laptops to underprivileged individuals in Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia to enable access to education and employment opportunities. In collaboration with its clients, Experian provided over 400 million minutes of talk time to 2.4 million people in Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam, ensuring uninterrupted communication during the crisis.

Innovation in Virtual Volunteering

Even as social distancing regulations limited face-to-face volunteering, Experian Asia Pacific employees found creative ways to continue giving back. Through the company’s #Map1Million virtual volunteering campaign, employees contributed thousands of hours to map previously unmapped areas, enabling aid workers to reach vulnerable communities in need of assistance.

United for Financial Health Initiative

Looking ahead, Experian is set to launch United for Financial Health, its global CSR initiative, in Asia Pacific. Through partnerships with non-profit organizations, this program aims to provide tools and resources to uplift and educate consumers while protecting them from fraud and identity theft. The initiative is expected to reach thousands across the region, offering essential financial knowledge and support to those disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

A Data-Driven Approach to CSR

Most companies are engaged in some form of CSR. But as a company whose core business is managing vast quantities of data, Experian is uniquely positioned to identify vulnerable communities in need and render assistance in ways that most companies cannot.

By harnessing the power of data and technology, Experian Asia Pacific is not only driving financial inclusion but also transforming lives through targeted, impactful initiatives.
