Environments are better with Ecolab.

Ecolab was established in 1923, with their headquarters situated in the United States of America. Ecolab is the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services that help protect people, planet and business health.

Ecolab delivers comprehensive science-based solutions, data-driven insights and world-class service to advance food safety, help maintain clean and safe environments, optimize water and energy use, and improve operational efficiencies and sustainability for customers in the food, healthcare, hospitality and industrial markets. With annual sales of US$13 billion and more than 47,000 associates, Ecolab operates in more than 170 countries around the world.

In their approach to sustainability, Ecolab believes in embodying corporate responsibility and sustainability within their own operations, being a responsible partner, and a sustainable part of their customers’ supply chain.

They also endeavor to drive exponential operational and sustainability results with their customers. Through innovative digital solutions, Ecolab captures real-time intelligence, develops

actionable insights and drives smarter execution to deliver superior outcomes. Using digital technologies to create more value for their customers, they provide increased visibility into usage data, predictive analytics, electronic service reporting and insight-driven problem-solving to improve operational performance and sustainability.

Ecolab is focused on reducing Green House Gas emissions within their own operations in line with the level of decarbonization required to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius and is actively working with customers and suppliers on their climate change mitigation strategies by providing products, services and data to support these actions.

They are committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions within their own operations by 2050, enabling their suppliers to set similarly ambitious science-based carbon and water targets and addressing climate related impacts in their innovation process to help customers solve some of the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges.

Ecolab’s Science-Based Target, verified by the Science Based Target Initiative, commits them to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2018 baseline year. In line with this target, they have joined the UN Global Compact’s Business Ambition for 1.5̊ C and also pledged to operate using 100% renewable electricity by 2030.

Ecolab has also started implementing Renewable Energy in their manufacturing plants by using Solar Energy Panels and has set a yearly target reduction in Green House Gas emissions. They target to complete Renewable Energy implementation by the end of the year across their ten manufacturing plants in Southeast Asia.

With solutions that help customers achieve their ambitious business and environmental goals, measurement is a critical component of their process. Using their proprietary eROI (exponential return on investment) methodology, Ecolab measures their sustainable impact and quantify customers’ return on investment. By helping to measure value, Ecolab

supports their customers in tracking and enhancing the value they create in the world. In 2021, eROI projects delivered more than US$750 million globally in annualized savings for their customers.

Utilizing their proprietary products and programs such as 3D TRASAR™ Technology for Cooling Water, NALCO Boiler Treatment Technology, Pure Comfort™ Mineral Program, APEX™, OxyGuard™ 40, SMARTPOWER™ and many others, Ecolab has helped over three million customer locations realize their goals in energy savings, water conservation, wastewater treatment and reducing cost of operations.

Their figures speak for themselves, as in 2021, Ecolab has helped customers conserve more than 215 billion gallons of water, 45 trillion BTUs of energy, avoid more than 3.6 million metric tons of C02 emissions and 84 million pounds of waste.

Ecolab’s innovation strategy supports their business model, which combines chemistry, digital technology, data analytics and service to deliver exponential customer value. Working with this synergy, they help customers thrive and make a positive impact in their operations, their communities and the world.

“By utilizing their proprietary products and programs, Ecolab has helped over three million customer locations realize their goals in energy savings, water conservation, wastewater treatment and reducing cost of operations.”
