Strategic Investments for a Resilient Future
With a 30-year strategic roadmap, Business Plan 30:35, Air Selangor is investing RM35 billion to enhance water supply efficiency and resilience. The plan is guided by seven Strategic Plans & Initiatives (SPIs) focused on key areas such as water conservation, renewable energy integration, and climate adaptability. One of the company’s major objectives is reducing non-revenue water (NRW) from 27.6% in 2024 to 25% by 2030—a 1% reduction equating to 33 million litres of water saved daily, enough to meet the needs of 125,000 people.
Driving Climate Resilience and Renewable Energy
Air Selangor is actively incorporating innovations to strengthen climate resilience and minimise environmental impact. Modern water treatment systems are designed to lower chemical usage, reduce waste, and optimize energy efficiency. With an annual electricity expenditure of RM300 million, the company is also accelerating its transition towards renewable energy. Its Net Zero Energy Vision aims to generate 1,460 GWh of green electricity annually by 2040, reducing over one billion kilograms of CO2 emissions.
Empowering Communities Through Social Initiatives
Beyond operational sustainability, Air Selangor invests in community development through initiatives like Sesama Mara, which supports underserved communities. The Box of Hope program has provided essential food supplies to over 5,800 B40 families, while the Empowering Online Learning initiative has benefited more than 400 students by promoting digital education access. Additionally, the Report Leaks campaign encourages customers to report leaks via the company’s app, helping reduce NRW and promoting responsible water use.
Commitment to Governance and Transparency
Air Selangor upholds stringent ethical standards through its anti-bribery and anti-corruption framework, ensuring accountability across operations. Annual Sustainability Reports provide stakeholders with insights into progress, challenges, and ongoing improvements, reflecting the company’s dedication to transparency and responsible corporate governance.
A Sustainable Future for Malaysia
Winning the ACES Sustainability Rising Star Award reinforces Air Selangor’s leadership in sustainable water management. As it moves closer to its 2030 vision of becoming Asia’s leading water services provider, the company continues to set industry benchmarks in environmental stewardship, resource efficiency, and community-driven sustainability.
