More about

Acer Indonesia

A Legacy of Innovation and Responsibility

Founded on 8 July 1999, PT Acer Indonesia has established itself as a leading player in the technology industry, offering a diverse range of computing devices, technology solutions, and services. Over the past 25 years, the company has built a reputation as a trusted partner for the Indonesian community. Beyond technological innovation, Acer Indonesia has embedded sustainability into its operations, aligning business growth with environmental and societal well-being.

Tackling E-Waste Through Circular Economy Practices

Acer Indonesia actively addresses the growing challenge of electronic waste through strategic partnerships with its vendor partners. Between 2020 and 2024, the company successfully managed over 42 tonnes of e-waste, ensuring proper recycling and disposal in line with circular economy principles. By encouraging responsible disposal practices, Acer Indonesia reduces environmental harm while promoting resource efficiency and sustainable consumption.

Reforestation Efforts and Carbon Sequestration

Carbon sequestration is a key focus of Acer Indonesia’s environmental commitment. In 2023-2024, the company spearheaded two reforestation initiatives, planting 2,700 mangrove seedlings at Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang, and Wonorejo, Surabaya. These efforts, involving employees, business partners, local governments, students, and community volunteers, are projected to absorb 30.75 metric tons of CO2 annually once the mangroves reach maturity, with a total absorption potential of 768.75 metric tons of CO2 over 25 years. This is equivalent to offsetting the emissions of 50 fossil-fuel-powered cars over the same period, reinforcing Acer Indonesia’s commitment to long-term environmental impact.

Advancing Sustainable Product Development

Acer Indonesia integrates sustainability into its product development, with the Vero lineup exemplifying its commitment to minimizing ecological impact. The company carefully selects vendors that prioritize recyclable materials for their products and packaging while incorporating environmental criteria into procurement processes. In addition, Acer Indonesia advances digital transformation by reducing paper consumption, transitioning from printed brochures to e-brochures, and moving towards paperless operations.

Fostering Employee Engagement for Environmental Impact

Employee engagement plays a crucial role in Acer Indonesia’s sustainability strategy. Programs such as Project Humanity and the 21-Day Challenge encourage employees to adopt green habits, with each action contributing to Acer’s global tree-planting initiative. Training programs further equip employees with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate sustainability into their daily practices, ensuring that environmental stewardship becomes an integral part of the company’s culture.

Long-Term Sustainability Goals and Green Manufacturing

Acer Indonesia has set ambitious sustainability goals, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and transitioning to 100 percent renewable electricity by 2035. Acer Manufacturing Indonesia (AMI) exemplifies this commitment, integrating renewable energy into its operations to reduce environmental impact while contributing to local economic development and Acer’s global sustainability agenda.

Community Outreach and Coastal Conservation

Acer Indonesia extends its environmental commitments beyond business operations through community engagement. Collaborating with the Seasoldier Foundation, the company supports coastal ecosystem conservation and local economic empowerment. Through its corporate social responsibility program, #AcerBerbagi, Acer Indonesia focuses on health, education, and environmental care, ensuring that its initiatives create lasting social impact.

A Model for Sustainable Business Leadership

PT Acer Indonesia’s integrated approach to sustainability demonstrates how businesses can address environmental challenges while fostering economic growth. Through initiatives in e-waste management, carbon sequestration, sustainable product development, employee engagement, and community outreach, the company exemplifies responsible business practices. Acer Indonesia’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint while contributing to broader sustainability goals highlights its vision for a better future for both society and the planet.
