ABOUT Aboitiz InfraCapital

Uplifting Communities for Nationwide Growth

“As one of the leading infrastructure development companies in the Philippines, Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc is committed to help uplift lives and spur economic growth.”

Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC), the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, is committed to building transformative infrastructure ecosystems that enable businesses and uplift communities as a catalyst for nationwide economic growth. Their strategic operations are in diverse yet interconnected businesses spanning Economic Estates, Water, Digital Infrastructure, and Transport and Mobility.

AIC’s current business units include LIMA Estate and LIMA Water Corporation in Batangas; TARI Estate in Tarlac; Mactan Economic Zone 2 Estate, West Cebu Estate, and Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Cebu; Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc. in Davao City; and Unity Digital Infrastructure, a joint venture telecommunications infrastructure platform with nationwide operations. AIC also has a minority stake in Balibago Waterworks Systems, Inc., a privately-owned waterworks utility distributor.

CSR Strategy

AIC’s CSR programs and initiatives emanate from its subsidiaries and business units, which actively pursue and partner with stakeholders and the community to drive shared value creation. As they bring to life AIC’s mission of building transformative infrastructure ecosystems, they amalgamate sustainable practices and initiatives in their planning and day-to-day operations, ensuring the long-term sustainability of their business and the far-reaching impact of their CSR service programs.

AIC actively takes comprehensive steps to identify and engage with key stakeholder groups and the community of their business and business units, ensuring their CSR initiatives are responsive to their needs and aligned with their business objectives.

Identifying Communities

Identifying these community stakeholders, they analyze their interests, influence, and potential mutual impact. They conduct regular consultations to gather inputs, understand and address concerns. For example, in their projects for Apo Agua, a business unit delivering bulk water in the bustling city of Davao, they hold meetings with barangay officials and local residents of host communities to ensure their developments support local economic growth and community needs. They collaborate and engage with local government units, non-governmental organizations, and other partners to implement community programs. For example, their collaboration with local water district promotes community-based water supply infrastructure directly benefiting host communities.

Water Supply

Apo Agua manages the country’s largest operating private bulk water facility, supplying water to the Davao City Water District as a partner in the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project (DSBWSP). Their primary initiative focuses on implementing community-based water systems solutions, such as water catchment facilities, water tanks, and additional pipelines, under the company’s Project Blue (2021 ─ Present). These interventions aim to address the basic water needs of host and strategic communities and technical skills needed by the community such as capacity building for the barangay (village)- led water system association to ensure sustainability. Recognizing that access to clean water is essential for growth, this initiative empowers communities by providing reliable access to safe drinking water, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life.

Labor Program

For its Economic Estates business units, the primary community CSR initiative revolves around fostering economic empowerment among Filipinos through their innovative Labor Program. This cornerstone effort is designed to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers through sustainable initiatives, with a strong emphasis on academe-industry partnerships, recruitment support and upskilling programs.

Collaborating closely with academic institutions in Calabarzon and Cebu, they align theoretical knowledge with practical application, thereby preparing students effectively for the workforce.

Their initiatives extend to facilitating job fairs and establishing a centralized recruitment hub, equipped with an online talent pool database aimed at effectively matching talent with industry demands. Integral to their strategy is skills development, with the development of a training lab playing a key role in providing opportunities for upskilling. This ensures individuals are equipped with the necessary competencies to meet the evolving needs of industries.

AIC’s overarching community care strategy is rooted in the principle of shared value creation, wherein their initiatives deliver meaningful benefits to both communities and their business operations. This alignment with the company’s business objectives ensures lasting positive change.
