“Speed Kings“
The way forward, fast.
Converge ICT Solutions has earned a well-deserved spot as one of ACES 2021’s Innovative Tech Companies Of The Year nominees for spearheading a national effort to bolster the Philippines’ cyberscape. Under the helm of its Chief Executive Officer and Founder Dennis Anthony Uy, who is often described by colleagues and employees as a visionary, Converge has provided unlimited, high-speed fiber packages to the Filipino public since 2014.
Through Uy’s unconventional approach and hands-on tutelage, the company has been able to sustain its growth as well as its trail-blazing ways. Converge boldly ventured to provide innovative solutions for exasperated Filipinos who had been clamoring for better connectivity, offering consumer internet packages with speeds ranging from an impressive 25Mbps to a speedy 500Mbps.
Additionally, the company has also provided pure end-to-end fiber connections to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as corporate businesses. With the advent of Converge’s fiber packages, the country’s average internet speed has improved steadily and noticeably.
According to the world-renowned digital delivery network, Akamai, the average download speed in the country has catapulted from a dismal 4.2Mbps to 18.66Mbps. The remarkable 135.90 percent increase has been attributed to two factors: a national broadband network under the aegis of the Filipino government, and Converge efficient and reliable fiber connection plans.
For fixed broadband speed in 2020, Ookla, a web service that provides analyses on performance metrics, has reported that download speed has improved to 51.27 Mbps. An online self-service system has been implemented by Converge ICT ensuring that customers are able to check the serviceability of their location by using a unique automated mapping tool that gives 99 percent accurate results within a few seconds.
Converge has also diversified its business, embracing data solutions and automation that aims to make the Order to Activation process more scalable. In addition, Converge boasts a fully integrated Customer Self-Service Portal that provides seamless handling between channels, with every channel providing comprehensive customer data through a user-friendly, easily navigable interface.
Through Converge’s trusted mantra of “Bringing World Class Technology to Every Filipino” the company has kept subscribers happy by giving them access to high quality and affordable internet services.
It has allowed the company’s subscribers to grow by a little over 100 percent from around 200,000 in August of 2018. Its estimated subscriber base has grown by a whopping 292 percent from December 2018 to December 2020. The company has also garnered a revenue growth rate of 71 percent in 2020, easily the best rate in the industry, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
From 2018 to 2020, Converge expanded its services outside of Metro Manila and into areas within Luzon including Laguna, Quezon, Albay, La Union and others. Network rollout initiatives are being done to cover a further 26 new provinces. In addition, the company aims to commence service delivery from the existing list of fiber-powered areas to 88 new municipalities.
Converge has gained international recognition from its membership to the Fiber To The Home (FTTH) Council Asia-Pacific, which consists of more than 100 ICT companies in the region. Furthermore, the tech revolutionary was accredited as a MEF Carrier Ethernet (CE) 2.0 service provider. The certification, ensuring ICT companies comply to global standards of connectivity, confers high confidence in the company’s capabilities and expertise. As a testament to its pioneering achievements in micro-trenching technology and other innovations, Converge has garnered numerous industry awards.
The company is also deeply invested in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives like the Smart City Project which aims to provide much-needed upgrades to Manila’s security systems.
“Converge ICT has shown admirable commitment in uplifting the common man’s way of life by upgrading the primary tool in today’s world – the internet. The way they have gone about it speaks of nothing short of revolutionary leadership, and a very clearly thought out roll-out strategy.”
