If you stood at 14 Mt. Olives St. in Paranaque City, you would see a huge compound comprised of buildings made of fine glasses and stones, surrounded by Marvel superheroes collectibles. This is the MultiSys Smart Community, the 1.5-hectare headquarters of MultiSys Technologies Corporation (MultiSys). Many years ago, David Almirol, Jr. worked several odd jobs as a janitor abroad, as an overseas Filipino worker—even once as a janitor— despite having earned a Computer Science degree. Using the money he had saved, he eventually returned to the Philippines to start freelance programming and run a computer retailing company, which, still, turned out to be a mistake. He once again sought employment overseas, but the paperwork took longer than he anticipated. So he took freelance programming projects for the meantime, and tThat was the start of MultiSys, with Almirol as its founder and CEO.

In 2018, the MultiSys Smart Community was opened. Through the glass, you could see employees exercising in the in-house gym, and the many life-sized Avenger Marvel figures and Iron Man suits. PLDT Global Investments Holdings, Inc (PGIH) had invested 2.15 billion Philippine pesos for a 45 percent stake in MultiSys. PGIH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Philippines Long Distance Telephone Inc, better known as PLDT. With this strategic move, PLDT had core software development capabilities, electronic payment and digital financial services under its wing.
